Warm Home Discount: 2025–2026 Applications Now Open in Scotland

If you're living in Scotland and could use a little extra support with your energy bills this winter, the Warm Home Discount scheme (WHD) might be just what you need, and good news: applications for the 2025–2026 period are now open.

What is the Warm Home Discount?

The Warm Home Discount is a government-led initiative, funded by energy suppliers, that offers eligible households a £150 rebate on their electricity bill. It’s designed to help those on low incomes, or with higher-than-average energy costs, manage bills during the colder months.

How it works in Scotland

Unlike other parts of the UK, Scotland still operates a “Broader Group” application system, which means eligible customers must apply directly to their energy supplier. At TruEnergy, we’ve made it easy for potentially eligible customers to submit their application online.

Who can apply?

You may be eligible if:

  • You or your partner receive means tested benefits or tax credits.

  • Your home is considered high cost to heat.

  • You live in Scotland and are a TruEnergy customer.

We’ll use your information to assess your eligibility and, if approved, apply the £150 credit to your account by March 2026.

Ready to apply?

Head to our Warm Home Discount page to submit your application today. If no eligibility options apply to you in the form, you most likely do not qualify. If you still think you might qualify, please get in touch with us.
